King Porter Stomp are an energetic 7-piece band based in Brighton, UK. With big horns, heavy bass, and delicately crafted and deeply conscious lyrics, King Porter Stomp have quickly established themselves as major players on the UK summer festival circuit. Since forming in 2006, they have played stages at Glastonbury, The Big Chill, Secret Garden Party, The Big Green Gathering and Ireland’s Electric Picnic.
The website design was based around the album artwork from their release “Shuffle”. This colour scheme was perfect as it enhanced the bands image. Being a gigging and active band one of the key features that they required for their site was an easy to update gig page, with separate pages for each show. This allowed them to clearly show when and where they were playing, as well as having extra details on certain shows that they were playing.
Another main point for KPS was the fact that they used social networking like Facebook and Twitter. For this reason we put up clear and smart buttons to access all of their social sites, which could be accessed from any page on the site. As is important with lots of bands these days, integrating their social media with their own website home is of high priority.
As previously mentioned, King Porter Stomp are a very active group, and for this reason, it was important maintaining the site was a simple as possible. This was done by using the WordPress content management system, with a simple interface and easy-to-update pages. As a result they have a very healthy site, which is the first search result when searching for King Porter Stomp on Google. This is of great importance to all bands, as often fans who have seen a group and want to find out more about them, the first place they will go to is Google.
