Cut Capers formed in late 2011 with a style based in hip-hop and ska, this outfit fuses together elements of latin, reggae, swing and balkan music to create a blend of sounds, made to make audiences jump up and down! The 8-piece has performed up and down the UK with festival appearances at Boomtown, Secret Garden Party, Shambala and Kendal Calling.
The site they have is perfect for their needs as a busy Bristol band. The features included mean that updating the site is simple. The WordPress content management system that it’s run on makes adding new articles or music very quick and easy. The design of the site is based on a press shot of the band which works well as a background image. A main point of the design and colour scheme is that it would have been very easy to have a dark and gloomy website, with the main colours of their image being red and black; however the lighter display brings the site out of the darkness whilst maintaining their imagery.
A feature that the band felt would be important was the slider on the home page. While they were happy with their image and colour scheme being red, black and white, they felt that the site needed an injection of colour. Now, with a slider displaying some colourful photos with quotes overlaid, the site maintains their image but also has vibrant colours on first viewing.
There are links to all of their social media pages along the top of the site, however they also wanted an integrated facebook like button. This would allow viewers to like their facebook page without leaving the site.
